Scott D. Chaplin

Scott D. Chaplin serves as General Counsel to BAE Systems Information Technology. As General Counsel, Scott is responsible for all legal matters affecting the various business units of the company, including contract negotiation and disputes, litigation, federal/international regulatory compliance, intellectual property, training, investigations, corporate matters, employment matters, and mergers/acquisitions. In addition, Scott also manages the Industrial Security Department and Export Compliance Department.

Prior to joining BAE Systems Information Technology, Scott practiced at two premier DC law firms: Morgan, Lewis & Bockius, and Reed Smith. He is a member of the Maryland State Bar and admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Maryland and the United States Court of Federal Claims. He is also a member of the American Bar Association and the American Corporate Counsel Association.

Scott has a Juris Doctor from American University, Washington College of Law and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
