William Shernit
President

William Shernit is president of Information Technology, part of the Information Systems Sector of BAE Systems, North America. Shernit joined BAE Systems in 1989 as vice president for Special Programs. After being named vice president of Operations in 1991, he was promoted to president in 1993. Shernit has over 30 years of extensive experience within the Intelligence Community, planning, developing, and managing complex, automated systems.

Before joining BAE Systems, Shernit was with the Perkin-Elmer Corporation's Government Systems Sector, serving as the sector vice president for business development.Prior to joining Perkin-Elmer in 1984, Shernit spent 13 years with the Central Intelligence Agency. He began his CIA career in the Office of Development and Engineering. He also worked in the CIA's Office of Research and Development, headed the Office of SIGINT Operations' Technical Collection Group, and served as the Executive Officer of the Directorate of Science and Technology.

Shernit began his career with TRW's Electronic Warfare Laboratory. Shernit holds Masters and Bachelors degrees in electrical engineering from Cornell University where he was a Sloan scholar and a member of the Tau Beta Pi and Eta Kappa Nu honor societies.
