Point-of-Service (POS)
These plans are managed health care
plans that provide care through a network of doctors and hospitals. Employees
have the flexibility in these plans to go "in-network" by seeing a primary
care physician (PCP) (of your choice), then using other network providers as referred
by your PCP.
You also have the freedom to go "out-of-network"
to doctors and hospitals not participating in the network. You will have to pay
a deductible when you choose this option.
BAE Systems Information Technology offers two levels of
coverage: a high option and a low option.
Health Maintenance Organization
(HMO)
The offering of HMO's varies by geographic location. HMO's are designed
to provide you a PCP (of your choice within the HMO) who provides your basic medical
care and refers you to specialists within the HMO if necessary. You will never
have to pay a deductible; you'll only have to pay the HMO co-payments.
Out-of-Area
Plan
In some locations, network physicians in the POS and HMO plans are
not available. That's why we offer Out-of-Area plans in certain locations. This
plan is a traditional fee-for-service arrangement. You pay the cost up front and
are then reimbursed a percentage after meeting an annual deductible and annual
out-of-pocket limit.
Tricare Supplement Plan
Military retirees
may choose the Tricare Supplement Plan to complement their military retiree medical
insurance. This supplement works with both Tricare Standard and the Tricare Extra
plans. Those who elect the supplement will have no deductibles and no out-of-pocket
expenses for covered expenses.
